I had BBK shorty headers, Mac off road h-pipe, Flowmaster 2 Chamber 40 series (2 1/2 cat back system) with 3.5 inch rolled tips it was loud and throaty. you might be able to hear my car on my cardomain site in the video section, but i now have the Magnaflow magnapacks just cause i needed something a little louder and sounds meaner..

I'm guessing from your name (hatchlover) that you have a 5.0

I will move this thread into the 5.0 section so you can get some additional feedback.

yup, deff an off road pipe. youll hear about the xpipe being better, but either MMFF or 50SF tested a bunch of h and x pipes, and the extra money spent on a x pipe amounted to about 5 horses way up around 5 grand. not much of a difference. my bud has flowmaster muffs and his sounds like a big block. it burbles when you let off, screams wicked loud on hard accel. ive got dynomax muffs and they are just right for me. nice throaty sound at 2 grand, but they scream when i punch it. new headers will also help, but make sure you have no cats and make sure its a 2 1/2" system.

the worst that you can get away with is glasspacks. otherwise, as soon as the cops see a stang they look anyways, but if they hear it louder than most, you could be screwed without muffs.

On the 89 GT that I owned I had BBK full lengths, off-road h-pipe, and an Flowmaster american thunder cat-back.
Got quite a few comments on the way it sounded. Very mean sound!!!
