Yeah i defenetly believe in the launch thing. I've been lunching my rx7 at 8,000 rpmon all 4 barrels. That's how i was able to get 14.8 only with 140 hp on street tires.</P>
I'm tired however of taking a slow car spending thousands on itjust tostill be slow. I just find it even amusing that i can just take a stang, slap some slicks on it, intake and 13's is very possible. Just that alone should be quicker than half the people at my 1/4 mile track. I would even be able to move into one of those quicker side lanes where a lot of v8's usually are.

Yep...read my signature.....oh yea-knowing how to drive helps too. Make sure the 5.0 you buy has forged internals if you wanna go faster than 13's and not break anything....

ok 86-92 have forged internals... 93 stangs have hypuitc or somthing like that. As for running high 13's most of you act as if you never owned a stang. I have an 86 GT and when it was bone stock it ran 13.89 on radials.... now light mods will make a stang screams for ex. off road h-pipe, headers, cai, gears, ect ect.. And why is everyone sayin 4.10? thats for strict drag only basically id go with 3.55 or 3.73 gears cause its good all around and good for daily driving. 4.10 your valves will be floating at high way speeds.

pit viper----what are u talking about with 4.10s your valves will float....thats bs. I ran 4.56 gears on the highway for years and never once did a valve float. Valve float occurs at high rpm when the valve springs arnt stong enough to get the valve shut in time.

Do you know what you are talking about. 4.10s are not for drag racing only. They are a good street gear. I have 3.73s now and i wish i had 4.10s. Actually i wish i had my old 4.56s bad. they were a great gear. I think you are little mixed up on what valve FLOAT is....</P>

Ok, that's nice so if i'm looking for 89-93 5.0, then they should all have forged internals.</P>
My gear choice would probably be 4:10's, i don't do much highway driving and i have a motorcycle to help with overall gas mileage bills. </P>
I was just looking at a k&n intake and it's surprisingly cheap! I'm really looking forward into the whole mustang experience thing. I really wish it was my car of choice about 4 years ago. </P>
BTW i have a new goal now, 12's<IMG src=smileys/smiley16.gif border="0"></P>
