Default Engine Identification help!!

Okay I've been looking for a 1987-1992 mustang motor to buy and every time i get close to finding one it seems like no one has the right motor. I've been looking online for the past couple hours now and I still can't find a definitive answer on how to find out the year and info of the block.. So, how do I tell the year?

The info i have for one engine right now is the following:
-He says it's a ford mustang roller motor from 1993.
-Casting number (by starter location) 21 E6SE-BA S
-Partial VIN (back of block under driver side head) GY678272 (and what appears to be half the number 2 at the end. Not sure if this was a 'typo' in production or not.)

Please guide me into identifying not only this motor, but how I can tell for future motors. Thanks.

E6 indicates it's a 302 roller block, that's all.
Could have been O.E. in anything.....

See that's what I thought.. I read that they used those blocks up to 93.. I understand the "86" part as well.. That's what I was thinking, but I have no clue if it's a true "86" or not

in 87 the e7 casting started, left over 86 blocks would of been used partly into 87 but not lasted until 93, as I stated casting stamp changed in 87!!

It looks to me according to the partial vin on the block that it was a 5.0 from a 1986 Lincoln continental Likely a mark VII or a thunderbird.

G is the year 86 y is the WIXOM, MI plant and the Lincolns and thunderbirds were the only running production from that plant during 86
1958–2002 Lincoln Continental
1958–2005 Ford Thunderbird
1980–1983 Lincoln Mark VI
1981–2007 Lincoln Town Car
1984–1992 Lincoln Mark VII
1993–1998 Lincoln Mark VIII
2000–2006 Lincoln LS
2005–2006 Ford GT

can you tell me how to decipher the vins? I'm still looking for an engine and I'm going to have the same questions probably if I find one.. How can I tell it's a true 87-92 MUSTANG roller? I've literally gone to three different guys telling me it's an 88, or 89, or 91, and ALL of them were an e6se block.. either there are a bunch of liars, or they used those blocks for other years for sure. .
