I'm having issues with my sn95. It's a 306 11-1 comp, gt40 heads, forged internals, tfs1 cam, msd 6a box and coil, Mallory distributer, eldebrock intake and 600 carb. The carb needs tuned but I can not get the timing right. 15 it dosent want to start, 10 backfires, 5 cuts out. I cant find a happy median. Any ideas?

 

Distributor not stabbed correctly, it should start at any of those timing marks. Backfiring thru the carb tells me timing is off.

 

make sure the balancer hasn't spun partially

 

Feel like a dumb ***. It was marked at 14. I thought the mark was 0. So it was wayyy off. Runs much better now. But thanks guys
