I figured i would ask this question here instead of the 5.0 forum. I have an 85GT and im just wondering if anyone knows what carb it came with stock. Like who made it. I know there 4 bbl and a 600cfm but i was just wondering who made it? Thanks for the help.

We old vintage Muststang guys would not have a clue with you guys 5.0. engines. Try posting in that section . However, if it is a 4v, it will be a fomoco autolite/motorcraft brand of carb. Pobably a 4100 series carb.

 

The 4100 was gone by the early 70's when it was replaced by the Motorcraft 4300 which was replaced by throttle body FI in the mid eighties. Your 85 GT came with 4bbl Holley with vacuum secondaries. It was 600 CFM or so.

 

So, once again, you have come to the wrong section to ask about fox body and 5.0 engine/carb quetions.

It is made by Holley for FOMOCO. But it is not as good as an aftermarket Holley because it is unadjustable.

wait, than when was fuel injection made? i thought the last car was in 1980?

 

1985 was the last carb on a GT
