As stated above, a paper clip is all you need, well, and a pen and paper to keep track of codes.
There are step by step write ups on how to pull codes on a Mustang in this forum. Or just Google it, or YouTube will have a video. Only takes 5 min. the first time. Very simple
You use it as a jumper wire in the OBD I plug that's under the hood. Then count CEL flashes, those add up to go give you the code. Example ...... 3 flashes then a pause, then 5 flashes = code 35.
