I have searched and searched, but haven't found anything that specifically addresses my problem. A few weeks ago my airbag diagnostic unit started the 5 pulse beep. The next day it stopped. Then the ABS light started flashing code 13. Yesterday it was flashing code 51. Now it's flashing 13 again.

I've owned the car for 4 years and the cruise control has never worked (horn does), so there is the chance of a bad clock spring. But I'm also concerned with that 22 year old airbag and if it is still safe.

If it is the clock spring, I've observed that the parts are scarce and I'm not sure if I really want to put a used one back in there, if the problem is going to happen again.

This car is a convertible and a daily driver. It will never be raced.

Any suggestions?
