Default Do verts really need subframes?

I thought verts were suppose to have stiffer frames in order to be able to not have a roof. If this is true, is there any reason to have subframes?

I've got a set of subframes for sale, PM me if interested. They are brand new, I bought them a few weeks ago and I realized that I'm not going to have enough extra money to get them installed. And yes, subframes are a must for a vert.
