intermittent Rough idle ck engine light
I installed a new BBK throttle body, EGR spacer, and cold air intake.. Along with a 130AMP alternator and IAC valve.. After all this right at start up it threw the ck engine light on and sometimes has a for lack of better terms rolling idle?? not really rough, doesn't make it die, doesn't miss just kind of a weird idle? I sprayed around all gaskets replaced with brake clean, doesn't seem to have a vacuum leak. Tried to get the codes read at O'reily with no luck.. Any advice would be appreciated.. Thanks.

This is how to read the codes. Unless you get lucky enough to find a guy at oriely or autozone that is a mustang guy I doubt any of those places could help

hello guys, sorry for getting back so late.. I followed the procedures for running codes. Did not work, my ck engine light did not flash? I checked it with my volt meter, getting 12V as I should.. Light will not blink or tell codes. When I started it up it started back firing and was hard to start which are new symptoms.. I pulled the new BBK MAF sensor and housing and switched it with my old stock one. Car started right up, no back fire, no rough idle. I then pulled the negative cable to try and clear codes that way, light immediately came back on upon start up?? Any advice on how to read the codes if the paper clip thing doesn't work? May just have to take it in.. Thanks.

Clean the MAF. There will be 2 ittsy bittsy wires than can get dirty, or saturated with oil from a fresh aftermarket filter. These 2 wires need to be spotless to give the ECM accurate readings.
As for not being able to pull codes, if I understand your post, your Check Engine lights up at start up, as it should, so the bulb isn't burnt out. Maybe a bad harness, or possibly a bad ECM, but that would be rare.

the light wasn't on BEFORE I replaced all these parts.. As soon as I started it after replacing these new parts the light showed up. I disconnected the battery multiple times for 5-10 minutes even over night.. Still as soon as I started it the light showed up and it hasn't went away.. I did leave the Negative cable off of it over night to see if it will clear the light.. Will let you know tonight when I get off of work.. Thanks!

Connected the battery cable back up still have a check engine light.. Now that I have installed the stock mass air flow I no longer have a rough idle.. The car us running perfect, just still have the light on??

mjr46 as I stated previous I tried doing that with the paper clip with no luck? I know its not a fuse as I have 12 volts at the plug where I should... Unless there is another way to ck codes besides the paper clip or wire that I don't know about?
