Default timing?

hey im about to do the timing on my 89 5.0 automatic what should it be set at? i think its like 14 or 13

Set it at around 10 if your going to run regular gas or 14 if you want to run high test. You gain a few hp with the timing bumped up.

From the factory, to cut costs, and to optimize emissions, 5 liters came with fairly modest timing curves, anything from 6 to 10 degrees before top dead center (BTDC)

Run from 12- 14 degrees initial timing for best results
