Default Headlights shorting/turning on/off intermittently

I've got a 1988 McLaren Mustang with 25,000 on it and today I realize that the headlights are just turning on and off by themselves... see the video below....

Any ideas what is going on? I'm terrible with electrical stuff...

Ha, your about to get good at electrical stuff........lol

The only way to fix this is to just jump right in, start looking for shorts, broken/rubbed thru wiring, bad grounds, bad switch itself, bad connections, etc, etc.

Or pay someone a crap load of money to trace it for you.

It's OK, I hate electrical gremlins too.

From your video, I'd start by the switch and work your way forward. Wiggling, tugging the wiring till you find the short. Then repair as needed.

This is just the headlights doing this correct ?

NO ONE SO FAR IS EVEN CLOSE TO FIRST BASE ON ANSWERING THIS QUESTION CORRECTLY, that is to say you have fog lights if you do, you need to perform the TSB of wiring in a relay and taking the fog light control off of the way the factory wired it, basically all you do wire in a 30 amp relay and use the relay to power the lights and the switch to trigger the relay......if the overload has melted any wires/components such as the dimmer switch, that'll need to be fixed first.
