If that doesnt pan out for you call Yukon gear and see if they can point you in the right direction...

I dont think any of the 7.5s were trac loc for the mustangs/capris,,, more fore bronco 2 dana stuff.

Is the differential tag still on the rear end

Im not 100% but when I look for spider gears for an 85 gt all I come up with is open diff gears. I always thought the 5.0l cars had trac loc both for mustangs and capris and the 2.3 l had open. It just seems odd that if I look up parts for an 85 gt there are no track loc spiders.

Exactly lol...... that's why I'm so baffled by this. And that I've never heard of a lack of spider gears for the 7.5 Traction Lok. Everything I've read today says the spider gears are the weak link in the 7.5, you'd think I would have found a link or thread discribing where to get replacement ones..........NOPE !!! Not one....and I seriously spent hours looking.

Your link was the first good news today so thanks again for that.

Just an update for this thread. I started thinking about this and why it happened in the first place. There was alot of axle side play when I first started poking around being this is a new car to us. When I popped the cover the fliud was still like new, clean and no odor. The spider gears had no unusual wear and still looked good. It turned out to be the previous owner didn't shim the clutch packs correctly causing the excessive slop in the spider gears. I stayed late at work and whipped up an assortment of shims and shimmed them a little on the tight side and all is good now.

Threw on a spare set of Cobra R's and waiting for the mounting kit for the rear louvers my wife has to have lol.

Next up will be to jump on the motor mods as this 1973 351 out of a Torino and all 158 hp with the 2 bbl just isn't up to snuff.

lol, I actually ordered them and they just showed up yesterday. But they are going back. $200 shipped was just to much to justify for a temporary 7.5.

But seriously, thanks for that link again. That would have been a life saver if I actually needed them.
