Futher down the road I really want to do either a blown small block or all motor small block. Ya it would be easier to do an all motor big block but I wanna go differnt.

I have seen 302 blocks from ford racing that can be bored to 380 cubic inches more or less I cant remember but I was wondering if I did that where would I find pistons crank etc to make all that work? Would I use stuff from say a 377 or 393 stroker kit for 351s? I cant find anyone that has bigger stroker kits they only go up to 347. I am just wondering if this can be done or not thanks.

I dont know why they would advertize something that you shouldnt do. It said max was around there so I would think it would be ok. We are talking about a $2000-3000 block here. I wish I could just find my ford racing catalog but its lost somewhere in my house.

If it's an aftermarket Ford block that you're talking about, they have the same external dimensions as a Ford small block, but the ci it puts out is up to you. That's why they say "up to 380ci." You can bore it out whatever size you want as long as you stay within the specifications of the block as noted by the manufacturer. They probably aren't speaking of a factory 5.0 block. Aftermarket blocks are designed better so you can bore them out bigger and stroke them more than a factory block in most cases. Just don't go past what the manufacturer says.

if i was going to put a new motor in my stang, which i am, i wouldnt mess with a 302 bliock. You can put a 302 block and stroke it to 347. Or you can get a 351 block and stroke it out to a 427 or something in that area. Im doing a 393. For the same cost of building a 347 i can build a 393-396. 393 crank, 351 rods and a 302 or 306 piston depending on your bore. THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT
