Default Loud squeaking noise when engine running

The video https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Eb1rZmnXca3KaeiNuekHhl8C8ouEPo8m/view?usp=drivesdk

Hey everyone, I got a really loud squeak coming from my engine and I'm fearing the worst. The video pretty much sums it up.
I ran it without the belt, replaced the distributor, and the sound is still there. I'm thinking it might be flywheel related but my dad said it sounded like it was coming from the passenger side valve cover area. Maybe one of my roller rockers is messed up?? I got the crane 1.7 rockers.

It started making the sound when I was pulling into my parking spot, I haven't tried to move it since. Seemed to move fine though. Doesn't run rough or anything, no smoke out the tailpipe, oil level good on the dipstick oil pressure good on the gauge. I'm still gonna change the oil and check for metallic cuz that sounds like metal on metal to me. Also, I don't hear it when I'm cranking the engine, only when it's running...

Any ideas would be appreciated guys.

This may be the problem, maybe bent a pushrod? Just popped the valve cover off and saw this. Didn't get a chance to take the rockers off, will post an update

There it is. I pulled off 2 rocker arms that looked like this. Now I'm worried, aluminum shavings I hope won't destroy my rod bearings. I only ran the car for about a minute once the noise started. Pushrods aren't bent, I guess the rockers just came loose all of a sudden.

Also, when I took them off, a stud broke inside the cylinder head! the last 1 cm of the bolt is still in the head.

Not very optimistic right now, looking like I'm gonna have to pull the head. It would just be very disappointing to get the head fixed and then get rod knock from the aluminum shavings a few days later.

Any thoughts or opinions welcome.

You'll probably be ok if it only ran for a short time, obviously change the oil after you get everything fixed weather you pull the head or not. Honestly removing the heads on these engines isn't that bad, more of a pain in the *** than anything

Angry Still making the noise

I got the bolt out of the cylinder head, cleaned everything up and put the rockers back on. A couple bolts were very hard to screw in so I replaced them and they went in a lot easier. Rocker arms looked aligned and good to go. When I started the car, the noise was still there. It was not very loud at first, but I turned it off after a minute, let it sit for 5 minutes, then started it again. It was right back to making this horribly loud noise that is still there when the belt is off...

If anyone has any suggestions what the sound could be it would help, cars been sitting for a few weeks

Take the drive belt off to see if the sound persists. That doesn't sound like a valvetrain chirp. It's not metallic enough. That sounds like a pulley bearing or p/s pump chirp.

It's possible that you finding the bad valve rockers was coincidence due to the noise.

You can also use a pair of mechanics ears (stethoscope) to see if the sound is coming from the valve covers or not.

unfortunately the sound is still there with the belt off. I also replaced the distributor as well. I did notice the dipstick tube is not in the hole fully, but i cant imagine the dipstick being the problem...

That sucks, can you track it down with a mechanics stethoscope? You can also use a long screwdriver

I will do that next time I work on it, I'm just scared to run it while its making this sound. Gonna try to check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge too.

Maybe it's the harmonic balancer? I never considered that for some reason. I'll take a look and update.
