if your on a tight budget, dont get a tremec.... just get a stock t-5 or t-45. ide keep it efi, if the 5.0 your getting is out of the same year stang you have, or close to it. other wise you will run into probs.

it would have been cheaper just to buy a 5.0 satng than to convert to a 5.0, but whatever. pick up a stock t-5 tranny and i would go carb cause i f*ckin hate electronics

CARBED ALL THE WAY!

And if you want a rock hard *** kicking automatic get a C4 they will take anything you can throw at them!If its a stick go with any 87-95 V8 5speed.And stay away from early four speeds from the early mustangs theyre junk.

Heres my 89 and it was originally a 2.3 EFI motor now its a 331 stroker and carbed. Its much more user friendly and cheaper to fix and modify.

By the way i am using a C4 behind the 331 and i love getting on it and its as good as new.It has s**tty mileage on the highway though because its a 3 speed and i have 3.73's out back. But hey f**k gas mileage.

If your tight on money go with a carb. The T56 tranny is nice.

reguardless of money go with carb in my opinion.EFI is a total bitch to install.I know me and buddy swapped in a used 95 cobra motor in an old 88 lx 2.3 convertible.I never wanted to beat the s**t out of an object more than with that car.It wasnt hard just very time consuming.

This wasnt a plug and play either he wanted this done on a low budget. We wired from the computer up and belive me it was a pain in the ***.I am sure with the actual donor vehicle and all the direct hookups it would be easier.

carbs are sweet. then you dont have to worry about all the mass air sh*t and injector sized and sensors, you just have to tune it and then put the peddle down to the floor!!!
