Efi- Self tuning up to a point... Once you get it tuned, it's tuned for as long as you have your mods. Generally more economical in regard to fuel economy, generally makes more power, although this is just an effect of the precision in tuning.
Carb- Easy to tune yourself, hard to get right. Easier to set up with less parts than EFI

Um... anything else?

Good points. I think it'ld be a good idea to stay with the carb setup. The price is just too good. If you decide to go bigger and badder then the carb is the way to go because of how cheap it is. When you learn how to tune a holley well, you will never want to go back to EFI. I just got my 84 motor done and feeling the secondaries kick in is enough for me to keep a carb the rest of my life. EFI doesn't even look half as good either. He's right, it is way more simple. If something goes wrong, you know exactly where to look. I wanted simplicity so bad that I put a points destributer in my car with a pertronix ignitor setup, and put v-belts on it. I'm not saying to go that extreme but a good carb is just as good as EFI after you learn to tune it properly. Besides it's fun to try tons of different combos with your jets, shooters, power valves, etc... Hell I even remove the chokes on my carbs and I've even got a Holley with a milled choke horn.... Have fun with the carb and enjoy the possibilities.

Erik

BTW if you decide to build another motor, I think that the other motor you have is a roller block... I'm thinkin 347 stroker carb setup.... Check out last month's MM&FF.
