One of my friends asked me how much my 92 gt (5-speed) weighed, and I told him it weighed like around 3,191 pounds. (Because I read about it in the ford 5.0 technical/refference guide. But he did not believe me so he opened the driver side door and started reading the sticker with all the codes and somehow he read that the total weight was a little more than 5,000 pounds. This has to be wrong. Can it really weigh that much.

anyways. look at that weight on the label. its GVRW! not the car weight

gross axle weight rating (gawr)how much rear axle weight vehicle can withstand . I looked it up in a chiltons book . these specs are for a 94 and i dont see total weight any where ? dang now im curious . lol

 

should weigh around 2827 lbs according to edmunds

 

yeah for the 93GT edmunds has it at 2834lbs.

 

LOL.................... thats so far off. possibly curb weight but sounds too low even for that.
that's no oil, anywhere, no gas. figure 8-8.5 lbs / gallon for fluids.


a stock gt is about 3250 w/ out driver in it.

my notch weighed about 3100-3200 w/ a driver in it

my lx 'vert weighed 3600 w/ 1/2 tank and me in it (i'm about 140)

the lightest you can be in most classes is 2800 and it takes a notch w/ a bunch of crap cut out to even get there. gt's are about 200 lbs more(if fully loaded...which they are cuz they are gt's)....and aod is about 50 lbs more than a t5

go to the dump and put it on the scale that will tell you what it weighs, thats what i did lol
