Default engine??

Im thinking of rebilding my engine sometime soon, I have got alot of bolt ons and but i was wondering what i can do to get some more hp with out killing my gas milage. like a cam and different rockers. anyideas, or thing that worked good for you. im running a 100 shot right now and this summer im going for 125. im tring to kill my motor but it will not die, its got 270000 km on it and it stil doesint burn oil or anything, last summer ran a 14 flat at 100 mph with out the bottle and 13.5 at 107 with a 100 shot ant street tires. going for mid to high 12s this summer. oh by the way its a 1992 notch 5.0. would like to here any ideas

If its still fine go to a 306 with some ARP Wav Loc Rod bolts keep the stock crank and rods get some forged pistons, get the block fully machined, then bolt it all back together for a cheap rebuild ... if you want more power spend the cash and stroke it...

No but if you keep the stock heads you wont make much HP unless there are severly ported and decked......it all comes down to how much hp you want....and how much you want to spend... you can go on EBAY and pick up a cheap stroker kit with a new crank rods and pistons..... but if you keep the stock heads then you are shooting yourself in the foot.... I would get a stroker kit off ebay, but the trick flow package for 2 g and with the 347 and that package you are making deadly N/A HP plus it comes with everything you need top to bottum
