Default tranny mounts loose?

i think either my tranny is fu&ked up, or its loose.i have a short shifter and a hp cobra clutch, when im in like 3rd gear and i tap the gas, the car will jerk and i hear the tranny make some kind of noise, likes its loose and moving back and forth. Then on the freeway, my car shakes really hard. It feels like its coming from the tranny becuase the shift boot is shaking. any help will due, thanks, late

Check your universal joints on the drive shaft,or you u/l control arm bushing's could be shot....

Well the universal joints just get under the car with it in gear and grab the driveshaft,if there is any up and down or side to side play they are bad, with the u/l control arms its really hard to tell unless you remove them to inspect the bushings completely...

Could be worn out motor mounts or tranny mounts. My motor mounts and tranny mounts are shot and once I hit 65mph and cruise the car shakes. To check bushings and mounts if they are really dry and cracked or have pieces missing then they are shot.

up , down, side to side???

try rotating it in gear...back and forth.....the way you described it sounds like a bad bushing in the tailshaft.

either way fairly ez fix, u-joint is ez'er though so hopefully thats it.

yea when it was in gear, i moved it up down, and back and forth, it turned alot.should i replace the tail bushings and the u joint?the u joint is the one that connects the drive shaft to the tranny right?if so, that is definatly bad. are the u joints on summit good?thanks.late
