Default new engine

what would be the most reliable and most powerful motor i can get away with for my '89 5.0?
i want to be able to go to the track and race all day and then go to cruse night and not have to worry about anything
please help me i am open for suggestions

same specs. and info I gave my engine builder at FORD PERFORMANC SOLUTIONS,in ANAHEIM,CALI. they recomended a 347 for me. It's naturally asperated with 10.5 to 1. HP=500 and 500 ft.lb. of torque. Good luck!!

also more cubic inches requires less stress on motor to produce power.

it depends on how much HP you want and if it will be seeing a power adder. The best thing to do is build the engine from the ground up and if you are looking to get higher then 500 hp you need to get a better block maybe a R302 block and build a 331 stroker or get a 351 block and build a 408. If you are going to add a SC to the car you need a low compression engine like 8.5 to 1 or if you are going to stay NA then 10 to 1 would be a good compression

I just had a 347 built for my car...Should be the best easy way to go.
