Default just put on offroad hpipe and....

hey i just put on a off road h on my 93 lx and now on start up it seems low on power i can drive down the road shut it down and restart and back to normal power is there any thing i need to adjust also it seems to be running rich now it will backfire some when i rev it .. any ideas????

when you change to an O/R pipe you will lose low end torque bc there is no backpressure from the cats. You will run a little rich but i bet you didnt reset the computer either you need to do that also you probably dont have backfire its little popping sounds isnt it thats normal backfiring would be one big pop not many small pops

resetting the battery by disconnecting it isnt doing much at all. its when its actually left unplugged for a while


yes he is probably backfiring. i get it once in awhile

so should the computer be reset after installing an H- Pipe? I never did that after putting mine in...

i just installed my bbk o/r h-pipe and an american thunder exhaust over the weekend and i feel like i've gained a decent amount of power. oh wait, my battery was disconnected during the whole install though .

IDK, I never reset my computer when I put on my full exhaust and it ran poyfecto.

you guys arent really resetting the computer by disconnecting the battery that way. the ECU has as short backup memory. so that 20 minutes isnt much. its when youre disconnected for a few hours its when it matters

Or if you get a code reader some of them have the software to reset the computer in which you would have to go drive for about 15 minutes afterwards to re teach it. But still after changing putting a new h pipe on the car it doesnt seem like you would have to do that. Try it and tell us if it helps because that sounds kind of bizzare, your only deleting some back pressure.
