Default Mark VII/Stang parts interchange

Dad and I are thinking of buying a lightly wrecked '89 Mark VII. From the info I've been able to dig up it's still a speed density unlike the Stang. However, I've also read that they have a 3.73 posi disc rear. I'm just curious is this a direct bolt in for a Stang? All we really want is the motor/tranny the rest of the car we would probably part out. Anyone know if there is anything else that would interchange with a Stang?

Thanks...

The rear end is a direct bolt on for the Mustang. However, only the turbo diesel Mark VII's came with 3.73 rear ends. The LSC came with a 3.27 and the standard was 2.73. Be sure which model that MARK VII is before you buy it.

EDIT: Those rear end ratios are from the '85 Mark VII's. I do not know what the gear ratios on the '89 are.
