removing front shocks for drag...
I heard that the best weight transfer for a drag car can be done by removing the front shock,is this true? A friend of mine has lower control arms, and and remove shocks in the front, and removed swaybars. he launches on slicks and pulls 1.6 60ft times.
aside from any miniscule benefit from the reduced wieght, the laws of physics should say that dampening (or lack thereof) in the front suspension shouldn't effect weight transfer. The rear suspension is what is loaded up on launch, the front just lifts. Once the front comes down I would prefer dampening than none.
struts without them the front would slam down then unload the tires which will result in traction loss. this is why they have struts with different damping rates
I drilled holes in my struts and leat all the oil out. Now why I did this is becaues the factory struts are to tight when you switch to k member and coilovers, This did too things helped my take off at the track but when the car came down it unloaded the tires but I still picked up 5 one hunderdes and picked the left front tire 8 in off the ground.

quik ..are these friends of yours..j/k
