Hello all T-5 made after 1986 or something like that is a worldclass T-5. the ones they sell in the magazines is a close ratio 2.95:1 ratio 1st world class (stock isa3.35:1 1st) open it up it is the same exact transmission including the size of the gears. what makes the 2.95 ratio stronger is that it is a less of ratio. Get a tremec 3550 about 400 less than a tko rated at 350lb/ft(underrated)guarnteed to handle enough power to lift the front tires off the ground but it is still priced around 1200-1300 plus a different bellhousing. If buying a TKO 1800$+ plus bellhousing , plus a different clutch requied for TKO(3550 same as t-5) A tremec 3550 will be plenty into the low 11's and 10's

some world class t's have straight cut gears which is what I like to have but I run a tremec in my high hp car..milkey like I said there is alway something better but with less than 1k your options get limited so the tremec would be the way to go under 1k

to all of you telling him to go with a C4, he already said that he wants to stay stick. tremec is the way to go, no doubt about it.

If the 3550 handles so much that sounds great, but how much difference is there from the T5 then? I wonder whether I should stick with the T5 and rebuild or go with the stronger (I think) tremec.

why do you like the straight cut? the only real difference in the wc t-5 is that there is clutch-like material on the synchro's that make them mesh better</P><edited><editID>FiveOhNo</editID><editDate>38005.5253587963</editDate></edited>

straight-cut gears dont mesh as well and it is easier to grind them. dont know what the positives of straight cut gears are though</P>
