Hello everyone i did a compresion check and im hoping someone can help me i thought each cylinder should be about 140 or so but this is what i got i just wanted to know if that is ok thanks everyone

115-4 8-115
130-3 7-115
125-2 6-110
115-1 5-110

Seems kind of low, but at least its consistent except for #3. They should all be like him or better IMO. Mine average about 165-170 psi.

now how much does your cam have to do with it? any at all i have a really short duration.

Those readings are low. Did you have the throttle held wide open when testing?

Yea thos deffinately look low. Do you have a Chilton's? You ought to check what the range should be.

great now im starting to feel bad, no the trottle was not wide open or anything, i need to check the seals on my compresion checker, the thing that makes me mad is it only has like 1500mi on the freaking thing it does not burn oil or anything

Ya something isn't right there, do you notice it not having the power it should? When I did the compression on the capri, all cylinders came out to 110, every last friggin one, at least it dosen't burn oil yet. But that is to be expected of an all orignal car with 192,000 miles on it! I say that you should do the check again and see what happens....

What's your static compression?

Edit: Also, where the bores honed right for the type of rings you're using?
