Default starter trouble

i tried to start my mustang today, it has a 1993 engine, and it hasnt been started in a few months. i tried to jump it today cause the battery was dead, and it sounded like the starter was skipping. and of course, it wouldnt start. my bro said all we have to do is hit the starter while it's tryin to turn the engine. would that work?

if you have to hit anything to make it work it is prolly scr*wed. I would replace the starter ASAP, cause it could cost you a flywheel.

yeah, u can hit the starter with a hammer. dont hit it too hard though, just tapps. most of the time it seriously does work, but it is time for a new one.

starter is about $75, i think!

definetly get you a new one before you are buying a new starter and a new fly wheel. but tapping it with a hammer will work for now.
