I agree with stang on that one, get it cleaned up, maybe painted or polished and it would look great.

 

I don't know about that "GT-40" intake. It is a 5.0 HO intake. That seller doesn't know what he has.

 

Are you guys 100% sure that it is an Explorer GT40 intake? I'm getting ready to do the tear down to replace my lifters and I'm going to do the intake also, if I go ahead and order this it better be the GT40 off the explorer and not a wierd 5.0 HO intake.

 

And if it is, I won't have the time or money to get it ported, if I just bolt it on will it outperform the cobra or match it? I need to know ASAP.

 

It is a 5.0 intake don't buy it. You can see the 5.0 HO intake plaque on the ground next to it. Spend a little more money and invest in a Real GT-40 intake.

 

Click this link. This is what a GT-40 intake looks like. The plaque in top might be different depending on which one comes with but look at the tubing. This is a REAL GT-40 intake for the 5.0

Yes but the aftermarket ones compared to the ones that come off of the Explorers will look different and the 5.0HO intake plaques will be the same if they came off of an explorer.

 

Thats definitly a gt 40 intake. Its just off an explorer.
