Default Bump Steer Kits

Are Bump Steer kits a must when doing coilovers? What are the advantages of these kits. The reason i am asking is because i just installed my Coil overs and Tubular A-arms last night and when i was putting the drivers side steering link (Tie Rod) i realized the bolt was striped so the nut wouldnt thread. Now i can just get a new tie rod end link for like $30 bucks or i could get the bump steer kit. Can someone tell me about these kits. Thanks

I have a Steeda Bump Steer Kit on my car. It does help a little depending on how low your car is. If your running at stock height don't worry about them. If you are running I would say anywhere from 1 3/4" or more lower than stock invest. I will tell you this though if you do your own alignments that and a little more degrees of adjustment but they also take a little more time to adjust. I will tell you this if you don't have Caster/Camber Plates you might want to look into it. I put my K-member and A-amrs with the coil overs on my car and I had soooooo many problems until I got the Caster/Camber Plates. Hope that helps. Good Luck

No not really. Just that I had problems with the suspension until I put in the caster/camber plates. What suspension did you go with. How low is your car sitting? What spring rating do you have?

well the motor is out right now so im not going to be able to tell the finial ride hight. coil overs are ajustable so ill be able to adjust the hight. i want there to be about an inch inbetween the tire and fender at finial ride hight. I got the KYB adjustable struts, D&D A arms, D&D 14" coil overs, rate at 175 and QA1 K member

If your going to do it do it right. You dont want to kick yourself for not getting it later.

Well i could do it right by just getting a new end link correct? thats like 30 bucks. but i need to know if i really need to get the bump steer kit they have out there. I had eibach sportlines on the front before the coilovers and it sat about an inch front finder and everything was fine. If i can get a replacement end link i think thats the route im gonna go unless someone on here can change my mind

Well if you had it at that height before and didnt have a problem then just keep it the way it is. Pointless to spend the money on something that already satisfies you.
