Default Lowering Q

Well im planning on lowering my stang soon, but i dont know how much i should lower it. I have a stock '94 GT, and i plan on just getting some eibach springs to lower it. I want it to look good, but not rub speed bumps or anything. Any suggestions on how much i should lower it??

And also, whats it mean by removing the air silencer to gain some HP?? (sorry im a newb)

what ever BBK has or eibach doesnt matter just dont go 2.0 drop cause you will hate driving over any tye of incline/decline.

Lowering your ride can have some advantages and not just looks.

In Stock ride height the angle of the Rear End arms are more upward. By lowering the car you also change the Rear end arms location / direction.

Here is a link to see what changes in ride height and how it will effect traction.

Best of Luck!

The air silencer is located in the passenger side wheel well (follow the stock airbox in the engine compartment to where it connects to the wheel well). All it does is silences the flow of air into the intake, some people say it's slightly restrictive and removing it gives you a gain of 1 or 2 hp.. Also it makes it sound cooler to cuz you can hear the motor sucking in the air.

I am probably only going to lower mine about 1 inch, because I've been told you don't need caster camber plates when you only lower 1 inch, if you go more then that you will need extra parts to correct a caster camber problem. I don't think 1 inch will make a huge difference in overall clearance over speed bumps and what not, but it should give the car a nice stance.

I wouldnt drop the car more then 1.5 inches bc if you go more then that you will have geometery problems that you will have to fix and not including you couldnt go over speed bumps either

Note: Avg Low 1.5"F 1.5"R You shouldnt have any problems with a pro kit, it will also increase handling and performance. They retail for around $225.

Speed bumps?? measure to 2 inches down, you guys must have some freakin' high speed bumps where your from. Unless you have some body kit that puts you on the ground, speed bumps wont be a problem......
