speedometer and fuel gauge...

RE: speedometer and fuel gauge...
Now to start off, what year is your car? I'm guessing that it's an 89. Well, for the speedometer you're probably going to have to get it rebuilt, mine was the same exact way and it's going to cost you around 100 bucks at a speedometer shop, but it's worth it. I'm sure someone else will jump in on the fuel level gauge.

yeah 2 completely different things going on.....the speedo works off a cable , thats it. nothing electronic.
b4 you bring it in, pop the speedo cable out of the trans (yakes about 5 minutes) and look at the driven gear...if it's all chewed up replace it. hopefully thats it, cuz thats an $8 dollar fix.
other wise it's the cable itself...broke
or the speedo is bad.
9 out of 10 times it's the gear or cable.
