RE: need help fast!!
I had the same trouble with my car. Here is what I found. I did the same repair as you with no fix to the problem. Upon further investigation I found the wiring harness broken on the driver's door right where it flexes when you open and close the door. You need to remove the driver's side kick panel and unplug the door harness connectors and feed the harness out throught the body to the door opening right at the area where the door meets the fender. This will give you more room to work the harness. Then remove the rubber boot off the harness and look for a broken wire(I fail to remember the color code on my 90 Stang' harness.) Once you finfd the broken wire you need to do a clean job soldering it back together and use heat shrink tubing to reseal the wire. Then try the repair to verify the fix before putting your ride back together. Hope this helps. wildcobrar

Well, you could always use a Multimeter as well to check and see if there's any extra resistance in the wire(or if it's cut entirely)
Just try and follow it back from the switch to the harness as cobra said.
Remember to disconnect any power going to it though if you're to "ohm it out"
