hey i have a 92 5.0 i just recently bought it, and when i first bought it it ran great. i had to take my car from tx to cali and it drove like a dream all the way there. but like 3 days after i got to cali the cars idle jump to high as hell rpm i thought it just needed oils so i changed it and put 50w oil because it has 120k miles on a rebuilt eng. and after i did that it went away slightly but still hasn't gone away, and when you start it if you don't sit there to catch it the eng will die out. i also noticed the car is leaking now and i know its not the transmission cause i checked. i tryed to follow the oil to where it started but i couldn't so i figure its from the eng. but i don't even know if that has anything to do with the problem. can anyone plese help me.

50w oil!? WOW, thats like molases... I run 5w30 in mine but its a new engine.. My old motor had 122,000 miles and I ran 10w30...

 

yea dude 50w? thats quite high. i have 5w on my 98 and 10w on my 88

 

the 50 w is why the idle came down so much drag and resistance on eveything it wont turn through it lol 50w is horrible on and engine
