Default some one please help me!!!!

i have a 1989 Mustang 5.0 LX coupe and ever since last year my dash lights only work when i give my dash a good smack but just about a couple of months ago it just stopped working on me and i have no dash light. i wanted someones opinion on what the problem could be or if this similar problem has happened to anyone else.

You could have made a connection or wire come loose, the only way to find out is to take your dash apart, it's not that hard, really.

If all went out I would suspect loose wire/ground, or bad dimmer switch.

Dimmer switch is flaky in my 90 ragtop. Only works when it's all the way to bright. Have you tried running the dimmer back and forth? See if the lights come on during any part of the switch travel.
