i have a 88 5.0 that i just bought... the low oil light came on so i put a quart of oil in it the next day the low oil light came on again... what could be buring that much oil in one day? (i think i went though about a tank of gas in the same time) its has a cam heads intake, and didnt leave a puddle where it was sitting over night, any thoughts? it also doesnt smoke (that i can tell its been extremely cold here for a few days and thats about how long ive had it.
yea i check it first than put the oil in it... than check it again and the dip stick said full... than the next day the oil light was on again and it was low..
not really that i can tell but like i said its been like 10 degrees for the past 3 or 4 days and thats how long ive had it and looking around the motor it doesnt look like theres any major oil loss just minor runs everywhere but nothing like a quart in a day
ill pull the plugs when i get a chance and its got edelbrock preformer heads cold air with cobra intake and the e303 cam and im kinda new to the 5.0 whats the pcv valve?
might be your rear main seal, they leak on most mustangs, and not necessarily
drip on the ground, but that seems to be alot of oil to go through in one day
