Default MAF--How much honest hp?

I've heard a lot of different claims as to the hp one will gain going from stock to a 73mm MAF. How much power have you folks gained from similar mods? Is it noticeable power?

I disagree... Even on a stock or mostly stock car, going w/ a bigger MAF and a CAI or at least a K&N type filter will make a pretty decent increase.

The stock MAF is only 55mm, restricting air flow to the TB [60mm]. Techinically, adding a larger MAF is like upgrading the TB since you will actually be able to make full use of it.

your stock induction will support over 300 hp.

swapping anything other than heads (because they are restrictive already) won't do anything.

it is a mod that will help later, or help now if you need it. a stock motor needs head porting and gear.

no matter what anybody says....if it helped anybody's et...i'd like to see a timeslip.

Thanks for the replies folks. Think I'll look elsewhere for power then. I would love to swap my heads out for some rebuilt Explorer units, but don't think I could afford the labor (and don't have the time or ***** to do it myself). From what sort of easy mods would I feel a power increase? Foregoing the twisted, knurled stock exhaust headers for aftermarket units? Banishing that conch-shell of an intake manifold in favor of an E-brock performer? What if I did both? Thanks in advance.
