Default differentials

Forgive the stupid question, but ...........

eventually hope to push 400-500 hp to the wheels.
Is it necessary to upgrade the differential in a 89' stang?

and if so what recommendations?

what's the difference between plate and cone style clutches?

Looking at Ford Racings Traction Lock dif., any thoughts?

This is going to be strictly a street car.

Thanks!!!

Default RE: differentials

yeah you will definatley need to upgrade it. i think obs3lete has 370 rwhp n snappe one of his axles but that was launching at tha strip on slicks. you'd wanna get some 31 or 33 spline axles, rear end girdle, and quite possibly a locker. if you get a locker you shoudn't have to get the t-lok.
