i have a 90 5.0 lx with Mac shorty headers off road x pipe dual chamber flowmasters, all piping is 2 1/2 inch except for headers which are 1 5/8 inch. Im looking for that common mustang deep throaty rumble which i dont have. im looking into getting long tube headers with straight pipes to flowmaster with no h or x. or should i try running straight pipes from my shorty headers to flowmaster.

Go with some nice LTs from Hooker, or BBK, or MAC if you liked the last ones. For power do an X pipe with Mags, and for that amazing rumble go h with flows. Straight pipes without any cross member will not be able to balance exaust pulses, thus resulting in possibly a worse sound, and even worse power outage.

unless your heavly modded you won't know the different..exhaust horsepower is so over rated in mild hp cars..you spend 500+ for maybe 15-20hp

150.00 headers5-9hp
150.00 mufflers2-5hp
275.00 2.5"5-9 hp
about 25.00+ per hp

dude, its one or the other. the headers go to the pipe which goes to the cat-back. headers are either long tube, shortie unequal, or shortie equal length. pipes are either x- or h- pipes with or without cats. long tubes and shorties need differant size pipes since they are differant lengths. if you have any more q's p/m me. i was in your stage once too
