ran at the track friday night...
well, took it up to cecil friday night for a few more runs... nothing that i was thrilled about, but not dissapointed in it. all in all i got 7 or 8 runs in(got there when they opened, ran 4 or 5 then, then sat for a hour or two and did a few more). i was able to get the drag radials nice and hot this time, which was a plus, and i finally found out where i like to launch from, 2500.
and way the times were
14.2
14.5
14.4
14.3
14.2
14.3
so i lied... 6 runs... all in all, not dissapointed, the 14.4 and .5 runs i missed 3rd gear, well didnt miss, but took a few sec to get into it, obviously slowing me down. also realize it was humid as **** out, and high 80s. so that hindered performance in comparison to last time, when it was 60 out...
cut a few 2.0 short times, which i guess isnt too too bad seeing that ihave STOCK gears.
all in all fun night
o, and a guy i knew was up there in his stock srt4. right in front of me in line, i told im to wait for me and run me, but he was bein a biotch and didnt, that run he hit a 14.34, i ran right after, and ran a 14.34. damn that woulda been a close race, lol. there were a few other stock srt4s running the same, so i guess its not too bad for my basically stock fox to keep up w. and at times beat an srt4's times.
car---- 1988 mustang gt, 5 speed, stock gear, mid pipe, dumped flows, and mickeythompson drag radials...

RE: ran at the track friday night...
AH! ok, was wondering I'm running 2:73's still. Ihave a set of factory 3:27 I plan on putting in later. Should work well with my current 3:35 first gear or the TKO's 3:27 first gear when I make that change in the future.

RE: ran at the track friday night...
eh... dunno about that... i have a 3.35 1st... and in a 3.08 im at 6k in 3rd... w. a 3.73 it would be 5500ish in 4th(where i want to be). i think w. 3.27s, you will be JUST shifting into 4th at the line, or over revving it... both would be bad, and would slow you down... no not slower then a 2.73, but still would eat time, unless you got a taller tire(27 inch maybe) butthen it would b like 3.08s...

no i shift at 5500, and that is about where it falls on its face... but i would, and have ran slower throwing 4th, its quicker for me, w. these gears, and such. to just pull 3rd a little high...

Well I'm sure I will have the gears put in before I get a new tranny soI can see how it feels with the T5 if it sucks too bad then I can either opt for the higher differnt gear set in the new tranny and/or a different rear gear too. On a spread sheet model the 3:27 rear with the 3:35/3:27 first gear set RPM's to max speed 1st & 2nd pretty much match a 2:95 first set with 3:55's 3rd n 4th is where it will bog me down a bit. But at the same time I don't want to lose too much top end in 4th and 5th compared to a 3:55 rear gear. Either way it will be better than the 2:73's
