Default truth about summit

i know this is probly considered off topic of tech but i think everyone should know.

i just called summit tech to verify.

i asked him who makes what for the summit brand products. a summit cam is crane, summit fuel pumps are walboro, summit suspension package is strange, summit exhaust is all BBK, summit owns trick flow so anything that trickflow has, there is most likely a summit brandname there as well. they dont have everything labeled out of what is what but for the most part they are all brand name products.

if you dont believe me call the summit tech and they will tell you, i called three times to make sure i got the same info.

if you still dont believe this is possible, i worked in retail most of my early life and i have learned many major companies make more than 60% of their money of knockoff names of their own products. people cant always afford top dollars. sometimes top dollar is the only option. did you know over half of what you buy in a supermarket most likely is owned by procter and gamble.

I got a kick *** set of shorty headers from Summit a few months ago. They were $99 brand new and flowed like a champ. Or at least way better than the stockers.

Ford does the same thing. Trick Flow, Summit and Ford rockers are all made by Crane. This is common in the market. Do you think Anderson makes cams? If you can trace it back far enough, there are only a few makers ofa majority ofproducts. There are only like 3 valvespring companies in the country. Crane and Comp don't even make their own. Valves are the same way. All Jeg's heads are made by Canfield. Napa Gold filters are Wix. Cranks and rods, etc., etc., the list goes on and on...

Another thing you guys should know is just because some of these brands are made by other companies, it doesn't mean they are made to the same qualifications. Some of the higher label brands will make their products and what doesn't meet specs are sold to another company. For example, I know for a fact that some companies that sell rotating assemblies are buying their products from larger companies stock that don't meet tolerances to be labeled their own. In some product lines, losing a huge percentage of product to tolerances in an accepted fact so they resell the stuff to lower companies to recover some of the investment. I know this same thing happens in many other product lines as well.

+2 on the BBK fuel pump,
me and a friend both ordered 190lph fuel pumps, and they both were stamped walbro
...its bs really..
the walbro was only like $79 at oreillys..
the bbk after shipping from jegs was right at 129
