Default AOD - Automatic Shift Handle BROKE!

Okay,

Today my car decides to get stuck in park at my house... I ended up breaking the shift handle from pushing the button in so hard. Anyway the shifter line that connects to the handle to engage the car to get out of park decided to I guess just break causing this.

The Question!

Where can I get an automatic shift handle, like a hurst handle or something for my auto. Anybody know how to fix the shifter line that connects to the brake for that to engage, because now I can just shift into reverse without hitting the brake (i know it doesn't matter, it's just the concept of having it fixed).

Thanks!

-Jeff

Thanks!

Ive got the B&M Hammer. Its pretty good.

As far as the shifter going into reverse without the brakes my old Ranger used to do exactly the same thing. I could shift it into anygear without the keys even being in it.

I also have a hammer shifter which I like a lot. If you want to stay with the stock shifter check out www.50resto .com, they have the replacement parts for your shifter handle. They have some billet handles also.

I had already checked 50 resto and they didn't have it...

How is the B&M shifter universal for auto and manual? I was looking at it, what holds down the plastic peice in the autoshifter?

50resto.com does carry the replacement parts for your stock shifter the part numbers are as follows:

AOD T-Handle #LRS-7213F
AOD Release Button #LRS-7488A
AOD Release Spring #LRS-7331A
Shifter Piviot Bushing #LRS-7133

Asfar as the Hammer shifter is concerned you would get #BM81002 which is specifically for '87-'93
Mustangs with the AOD transmission. The plastic piece on the console is held down by clips which go in the stock mounting locations as there are new console bezels included in the kit. You can check out
www.mustangsunlimited.com or Summit for this shifter.
