Im new to the site and to the whole racing/mustang world. my question is, i recently purchased a 1983 mustang 5.0 from a guy. I have been looking around on the site and so far i havent really seen anybody else with a 1983 model. It has the Boss strips and all on it. The guy claimed it was a rare version, even if its not i got a hell of a deal on it. J/w a few things, what gears did a stock 1983 5.0 come with (manual t). and also is this car any rarer then any other fox?

btw i only paid 3100 for the car with 70k miles on it. Everything is stock i believe.

 

Look on the door tag, and tell us the letter printed under "axl"

 

after you do that. call up jegs and order some 3.73's or 4.10's

 

its an 83, theres some members on here with one,

first, full tune up,

second, change the carb

3rd, full exhaust from headers to tip, get a 86-93 dual hump tranny member

4th, change the rear end to a 8.8in with some 3.55s, 3.73s. 4.10s depending on your situation

 

i looked around and all i could find is a small tag near the hood latch.

? not sure if any of that helps but thats what was on the tag. If not then where exactly should i be looking.
