But what if I didn't want to mess with the internals.....
I never said anything about messing with internals.
Ive got a completely stock 99k bottom end with heads, a cam and an intake.
You will need to change the rockers and its a good idea to change the lifters when swapping cams. The rockers bolt to the heads.

I got Harland Sharp 1.6 roller rockers and Summit lifters (stock replacements).
The lifters arent totally necessary to replace but its a good idea to replace them while its all apart anyway.

Get yourself a Summit and/or Jegs catalog- theyre both free.

My dad rebuilt a 1966 fastback mustang from ground up and so I know he can help me. Hubby and my dad fixed the head gaskets on my V6 in 2005 so togetherI know they can do it. I'd rather pay my dad labor and know I'm getting the job done right than to pay some shady mechanic to do it.

The friend Im having do my work has an 11 second all motor '94 GT that he built and an '04 Mach 1 so I trust him because he knows what he's doing with Mustangs.
He's giving me a price thats more than fair for the work he's doing.

i think it might be a little over your head.. cuz first off if you dont know what the parts are that we are talking about how are you gonna even attempt doing it?. and yes buying heads cam and intake will be good but then you need to buy all the other little stuff. it its not exactly a weekend project to do all of that either.. especially if you dont set it up right and torque everything properly.. i suggest you do A LOT of research on it first and def have a few people that kno what they are doing help you..

and also i think you should just sell your v6 and buy a car thats already a 5.0 cuz it will prob be a lot cheaper. cuz ur gonna have to replace the engine, tranny, driveshaft, rear end (from 7.5 to 8.8).. its really not worth it at all. and sell it b 4 it blows so you can get ur moneys worth. you can pick up a good shape fox or sn95 for like $4k
