Default Shop Prices

Hey just wondering if you guys think these prices are pretty good, also they are all in canadian dollars. $150 for clutch install/rear main seal. And one of the mechanics is gonna sell me 3.55 gears (good condition, low kms on them)for $75 and install for $150. I'd have to buy whatever bearings are needed. These prices are at a GOOD mechanic shoptoo, not a rookie or backyard mechanic.

if they are doing something that is listed in a labor book, how long they take doesn't matter. whatever the labor guide calls for, you pay.
if the job calls for 3 hours, and the tech takes 6 hours, you only pay 3. thats how it goes.

custom stuff is another story tho.

Ok, what is the current exchange rate to US$?
Last I looked, it was .96 or something so you are not so far off.
Around here the better shops are $75/hour (Tucson,AZ)

And vice-versa. If the book calls for 6 hours and it only takes 3 hours you pay 6 hours labor.
