Default 1982 Capri

I found a 1982 Capri for sale a few days ago. It is has a 302 with a four speed (manual) with 122,000 miles. It is rust free, doesnt have any oil leaks, floorboards are rust free as well, and runs good. But, the ball joints and tie rods are shot, theres no headliner, the drivers seat is torn, and the paint is faded. The car has some sort of aftermarket wheels and some Flowmasters but is stock other than that. Hes askin $1000 for it. Im wanting touse it mostly at the strip and a little on thestreet with a cage and a 351W or C. What do you think? Is this a good year or should I keep looking? Im having terrible luck finding a car at this point if this doesnt work out..Ive had both a 67 and a 79 sold out from under me..

snag that sucker, that is a steal, as for the ball joints and tie-rods, just an excuse to the wife about why you need to upgrade the suspension and etc plus 122 K on the odo is like middle age for that 5.0 anyway, they are tough motors, provided you dont go over 400ish hp[8D]

I like the older capris too, they were sharp looking cars, but I wasnt a fan of the ones with the bubble hatch...

Alright thanks. And Im not wanting to change the subject because I still want a few more opinions, but does anyone know of a place that makes cowl hoods for an 82? Or a website that has pictures of 82 Capris? Ive been lookin on google and yahoo at images to try and remember what the front end and interior looks like on an 82 but Im not having much luck. All opinions appreciated.

Ok thanks that is a great site. And I didnt want to ask this on that site because apparently it starts riots, so Ill ask here, how hard/expensive is it to convert to a Mustang front end? I dont really care which year front end, or if its aero or four eyed. Im not trying to make people mad I just like the look of the Mustang front end better. Thanks

I think you have to change fenders, hood, and front nose to convert to a mustang front end.
