Default Shift Kit ?

So ive been told to go with either the becontrol.com shift kit and the performance automatic shift kit. When i went to the PA website, they just have a valve body aod kit, now is that considered the "shift kit", bkuz becontrol.com has a shift kit and a valve body kit?

I dont know what post you were reading here, but I didn't see any sarcastiv remark. You asked about a shift kit. he has most likely heard about them but never knew exactly what one was. So rather than start a new thread, he simply asked here. He wasn't being a ***** at all. Not sure how you misread that.

Anyway, I would go with a TransGo Shift kit. They're a name brand and I've never seen anyone have problems with them. I've never seen anyone run the other ones you mentioned. That doesn;t mean tey're bad. Just means that they don't seem to be a popular so I can't say if tey're good or bad.

To answer the other question... a shift kit is basically a kit that installs in the valve body of an automatic transmision. It will make your car shift firmer and faster with less slipping. It makes a HUGE difference. It can literally throw you back in your seat as it shifts gears. You can also chirp the tires when shifting from first to second or second to third with the shift kit installed. It's highly recommended for any automatic tranny.

If you're getting an aftermarket, full manual valve body w/ a transbrake then it will already give you the same features. A shift kit is ideal for those who don't want to spend the money on a valve body. They're about 1/4 to 1/2 the price.
