$700 for Ford Motorsport chrome 4 lug Cobra Rs
 

A local cat is selling a set of chrome, 17x 8, 4 lug Cobra R rims with "Ford" "Made in USA" stamped in the casting. The rims come with good rubber. He wanted $900. I offered him $700 and my Pony rims. Here are some pics of the rims. Is this a good deal? Thanks, fellas.

I already tried that. He wouldn't budge from $800. I'm looking at these rims on Ford Racing's site, and they're $300 a piece. I guess it is a good deal. One question though, why does the site imply that no Ford Racing rims are legal on pollution controlled vehicles? Look at this ad, and check out the asterisk notes down below. All of their rim ads are the same way. Am I missing something?

I thnk for $700 you could keep your pony's. Now if they were with new tires I could see it. I paid $750 for my silver ones with new tires all brand new. Good price non the less.

I see what you mean, Stanger. And thanks for the reply. It seems like agood deal...not a great one. To be honest, I'd just as soon give up my ponies, asI have nowhere to keep them anyway. I know that I'd be saving a lot of money compared to buying the rimsbrand new with tires though. In fact, I never would buy them brand new, so this may be a good in. I may just be impulsive and do it...later tonight. They'd set the car off beautifully:D. I'll check back in later.

Thanks for the responses, fellas. I'm so on the fence, that the idea of saving the money andspending it on something else seems appealing...particularly with some of your replies. Decisions.

BE SMART!!!!! sell your ponies, and now u have that money plus the $700 u were gonna spend anyway and get a new set off of ebay. u can get the same new chrome cobras with new rubber for about 1,100 shipped. thats what i would do.

i got my chrome 17x9 cobras w/ 245 fronts and 275 rear almost new tires as a whole package for $700. check closely for scrathes or dings or chips. also check the lugnut holes and inner rim face for OXIDATION. its a build of of crusty flaky white shiyat. u can knock off more price money if this is present.

yes man dont buy them, just sell your ponies. This way you can do a 5 lug swap and have more open choices with the 700 and the money from the ponies.

Yeah, I'll rock the Cragars;). Put it this way, I wouldn't want them on my car...but I love them on yours. Nice ride.Clean too. Yeah, I guess I'll sit on the cash for a minute. Truth be told, I'd prefer silver rims over chrome anyway.And if I had bought these wheels, a set of silver ones would have posted on Craigslist the following week...for half the price. Then I'd have been mad:D. Honestly, I'd like a set of those 17" ponies...I'm a pony fan from way back.
