so remember how i blew 2nd in my old trans? and ended up w. only 1st and 4th?

well today i finally took it apart to see the damage... i expected it to be bad... but not this bad, lol

ok 2nd gear... countershaft gear was compleetly gone... and the mainshaft gear was chewed up prty bad... alot of chunks missing.

the 3/4 syncro... somehow both springs and the three blocks were compleetly missing... no wonder both gears felt like they didnt have syncros... because they didnt!

the input shaft... where it smooths out and rides inside the blocker ring for 4th gear... compleetly ****ed up... only had a small part of that left

speaking of 4th... that blocker ring... compleetly gone, lol

o and the atf... yano how its suposed to be a dark red?... how about a pale purple, lol...

not to mention all the chunks of **** that came out all over the place

damn i knew i ****ed it up... but not that bad, lol

yea it happened the morning after the 1st night of nitrous runs at the track...



and just to restate... **** astroperformance.com...neverr again will i spend a dime there


on a better note... the trans in it now has stuck thru w. 2 nights at the track and many runs on the street with a slightly bigger shot

 

well, at least you did it right, you definately did not half *** tearing that t-5 up.

 

Astro performance is supposed to be good, glad I didn't buy their junk

 

you should take pictures of it and e-mail them to astroperformance.... make up some story about how it locked up while you were driving on the highway... and you ended up skidding out of control and nearly hit other people on the road.. etc

and how they should refund you for selling you a junk POS tranny, which put your life in danger!

 

Sounds good enough to work! I would say you are going to file a lawsuit and just try and get your money back.

that would be cool if you could get your money back from astro for that. that is more than just a gear going thats freaking catastrofic failure of the whole damn thing. im glad i got thier best trany before moving to the g-force i dont think ill have to worry about that...i hope
