sounds like you bought your car from the same guy I did lol my 89 lx hatch is in about the same shape as yours, its a solid car but needs some work here and there, nothing major
it looks like a good project though, how much did you pay for it?

i mean i was plaaning on buyen a 5.0 but not this soon lol. i ben looken at them for ahwhile. i was at school talken to the dude, and then i jus left skiped math class and drove a hour to go buy it lol.
It looks good!
To get the hatch to close, you may want to look up in the latch. There's a little metal thing that sometimes gets stuck. The little metal thing sits above the 2 main clasps. Try flipping that upward, to get the driver side clasp to come back down (or come back up, I can't remember which). Sometimes the little metal thing gets stuck, and holds the driver side clasp in the wrong position, and the hatch won't close.
You may need to move the hatch striker to the left or to the right, to get it perfectly centered with the latch. It's adjustable. You can move it up, down, to the left, and to the right. You may also need a new striker bushing, which is a piece of rubber that covers the striker. You can order a new striker from www.50resto.com. Or you can wrap it with electrical tape.
You can also order door-related and window-related stuff, and lots of other useful stuff, from www.50resto.com.
I'd do lots of keyword searches on www.mustangforums.com, and www.stangnet.com, and www.corral.net, to find info, regarding all the stuff that needs fixing.
