Default general fox q

i have never driven a stock fox 5.0 till i purchaced mine about a month ago .. the car is in mint condition with only 30 k original ...its totally stock except forsmog pump removed , bassani catless x pipe and mac mufflers and a crank underdrive pulley ...today was the first time i really got on it and tried to do a burnout .. i revved it up to about 2000 let go of the clutch stepped on the gas and i let it rev to about 4 grand before i let go but it was like dead .. it revved very quietly and the tires hardly spun .. i used to have an 89 with a full exhaust cobra intake and 4 10 gears and compared to that my car is slow as sh** lol it picks up a bit after 3 grand .. is a stock fox really that slow ??? also my gas pedal does not feel as tight as the 89 did its pretty soft ...i dont know if thats normal because its stock but i like my gas pedal a lil tight where you can feel the torque ..anyway just curious thanks guys
.. also this saturday if weather and my job permits lol ill be doing the airbag to tilt conversion .. ill post some pics and let you guys know how it came out cuz i probably wouldnt even be doing it if i hadnt found this forum and got all the help and answers to all my questions from you guys and it seemed alot of people are curious about this

Sounds like it has the 2.73 gears in it. I drove a stock 5.0 vert of my friends and it felt slower than a ford focus... You just dont get the full oomph from those highway gears as you would get from 3.73's or 4.10's. If you were to put 4.10's in it the car would feel 100% different, but thats a lot of gear for the T5 if your doing much highway driving.

really worse than a focus lol it actually has stock 3.08 gears .. i didnt think just gears could make such a huge difference .. i loved the 410 it always had pull no matter how fast or slow or how many rpms .. the only thing was that 1st was a lil too quick

Not sure what you are running into as I have a stock 88 with 2.73 gears and I can get it to burn out if I want. I don't even have to rev it that high. Nothing comes to mind though as what it could be if the car is in as good as shape as you describe. The only differences between our cars is that mine still has the smog stuff, and stock exhaust except for flowmaster cat back. Not to mention mine has speed density and is a few years older.

s**t my car was almost completly oringinal down to the plugs when i bought it. I was sqealing first all the time by accident. Maybe your clutch is bad or something. 5.0's regardless stock or not(gears) are going to lay down some serious rubber at 3000rpms.

That is a clean fox!! But still, its a 15 year old car, not to mention there is a Huge difference between 4.10's and 3.08's, throw some gears in there and light em up!
