I posted awhile back that I wanted an LS1..
GM's LS family without a doubt has to be one of the best powerplants ever put into a performance car in automotive history. The power they provide reliably for the money is phenominal.
the biggest advantage the LS1 has over the 302 is age.
the 302 has not changed much, and since it was LAST used in 1995, it makes for a very large gap in the factory level R&D between the two motors. The LS1 has 44 more CI than the 302... and much higner compression. I think they ran around 10.1:1
So my new 347 (1ci more than an LS1) and 10.25:1 CR.. I should be right up there.. lol... my heads even have chevy valves in them.
I do agree that the LS1 is an awesome powerplant, you cannot deny it. But camaro's are just friggin ugly. You should have bought a WS6 FireChicken.

Agreed, I never cared for the late model Camaros, but the T/As look pretty nice. Drop an LS in a 69 though and you got one really nice car
